School Admissions Policy
The maximum number of children at the school has been set by the Governing Body at 210 children. There are also 52 places for nursery children, two sessions of 26 children.
Nursery Admissions
The children’s’ names my be registered after they are 2 years of age. There is a joint registration form for Eynesbury/Middlefield, Winhills and St Mary’s Nurseries. There is a commonly agreed admission policy. Parents may only register for one nursery place. Children are admitted to nursery in the year in which they are 4 years old, as long as they are able to cope with the nursery day. The children come into the nursery in a phased way so that all the children are in school by half-term in the Autumn Term. This will be proceeded by a visit to the nursery by the children and a home visit by the nursery staff.
Please note that a place in nursery at St Mary’s does not secure a place in the school.
School Admissions
In line with Cambridgeshire County Council policy the children will normally start full-time school during the Autumn term. The Governors will admit the standard number of 30 children to the reception class during each academic year. Children will be admitted in the year in which they are five years old.
In the event of their being more applicant’s than there are places available, the Governors will apply the following criteria in order of priority which has been agreed with the LEA and the Diocese.
- Children who qualify on religious grounds (in accordance with the trust deed of the school).
- Children of regular worshipping members of the Church of England and are commended by their priest.
- Children of regular worshipping members of a non-Anglican Christian Church and are commended by their priest or minister.
- Siblings of children already attending the school at the time of entry.
- Children who live south of the Cambridge Road and the school side of Henbrook (road).
- Children of parents, who, if not worshipping members of a Christian Church, nevertheless wish their child to attend a Church of England (Aided) School because of its specifically religious emphasis.
