All Age Services

Sharing in the Eucharist or Holy Communion is at the heart of our worship together as a Christian family. We welcome children to all our services, but on the first Sunday of each month, the 9.30 service is shorter and less formal, and designed with all ages in mind.

The readings from the Bible, and the songs are chosen to encourage the participation of all age groups, especially the younger ones, and we often welcome contributions made by children from St Mary’s Church of England Primary School.

The service might include other readings, drama, special music or songs, a talk, prayers, visual aids and other appropriate activities. Children, young people and others are encouraged to take a leading part in the first part of the service and to assist with welcome, giving out books and bringing the offerings of bread and wine.

A crèche area is available for very young children at every service.

Children aged seven or over can be admitted to Holy Communion after a simple course of preparation, and we encourage all parents to consider this step for their children. Please contact a member of the clergy if you would like to know more.
