St Mary's Church Choir

The choir in St Mary’s Church - affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) - is a robed mixed adult and children’s choir. The choir leads Sunday worship every Sunday morning in the 9.30 Family Eucharist. As other services resume post-COVID the choir will return to other roles too, beginning with 'In memory', Advent and Christmas Carols, and returning, in time, to Choral Evensong and other special services. Choir members often join in compline during Lent, and members are encouraged to work on RSCM awards when they wish to.

The choir has in the recent past joined with other singers to sing Evensong in a number of cathedrals across the south, and has also had a link with the cathedral parish in Helsinki. We are pleased to be connected with a wider community of musicians, and our present Rector is a member of the Ely Area Commitee of the RSCM (having previously been also on the commitees of York, Carlisle, and Durham)

We are always looking for new members so if you are interested in finding out more about the choir please contact the organist and choirmaster Lloyd Barnett.
